Epping is another suburb in Victoria, Australia. It sits 18 km north of the Central Business District of Melbourne within Whittlesea City’s local government area.

According to the 2021 census, Epping has a population of 33,489.
In 1839, a village was surveyed and became Epping. The suburb was named after Epping Forest in 1853. In 1844, a hotel and a Catholic school were established in the suburb.
In September 1857, Epping’s first Post Office opened. A year later, the Epping Road Board was established. In 1870, the area around the suburb was called Darebin Shire. In 1893, it was renamed Epping Shire until it became part of Whittlesea Shire in 1915.
